SUMMER SCHOOL 2018

Program for children 11 -14 year old

Time: July 9-29, 2018 & August 6-26, 2018. 3 weeks.

Place: Ventspils University College Campus, Latvia, EU

Summer school for teaching STEM and English in small groups with encouragement of creativity, self-confidence, international communication, sports, travel and typical summer activities. Objective of the school is to prepare children for future society and build their competitiveness for global education and career.

Exclusive workshops

A modular workshop at the one of the largest radio telescope RT-32 in Europe, the receiver of astronomical radio sources.

Sports

Sports like volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball and other active outdoor or indoor activities in comfortable sporting courts. Raising the team spirit and keeping the body fit!

Beach activities

Activities at the Baltic Sea beach which is certified by world eco label «Blue Flag». Beach is in walking distance from the campus. White sandy beach, swimming and sports.

Nature

Nature exploration, including short hiking trips, adventure expeditions and outdoor picnics. Keeping the balance between the technology and nature.

Water park

Water amusement park visit, that offers different water attractions both outside and inside. Water slides 53 m and 56 m long and 6 m high, artificial waving pool, pool with back-stream massage and water jets, water cascades and "Mountain River"

AHHAA science centre visit in Estonia (1 day)

The aim of Science Centre AHHAA is to introduce science to everyone and encourage studying through the joy of discovery. In addition to trying out numerous ´hands-on´ exhibits on our various exhibitions, visitors of AHHAA can also take part in workshops, enjoy planetarium and science theatre shows.

Copernicus science centre visit in Poland (3 days)

It is is a science museum , containing over 600 interactive exhibits that enable visitors to single-handedly carry out experiments and discover the laws of science for themselves. The Centre is the largest institution of its type in Poland and one of the most advanced in Europe.

Ship cruise to Stockholm and excursion, Sweden (3 days)

3 day visit to the capital of the Sweden, with a ferry, having a city tour, including a walk in the Medieval town disctrict, visiting museaums, like Vasa Ship museum, Skansen Open air museaum, Royal Palace and enjoying local food.

Kiting lessons and tryouts (afternoons 5 days/3 h a day)

Use the opportunity to learn the basic skills of a beautiful sports in fresh air with professional instructors.

Flying in Aerodium Wind tunnel

Fulfill your dream of flying 3 meters in height in the original wind tunnel whose unique technology has been presented and admired in Shanghai Expo in 2010, Torino Winter Olympic Games in 2006 and introduced in Shanghai Disneyland in 2016. Professional photo services available to make immediate great impressions.
